At Davis, we pride ourselves in the way our methods empower neurodivergent thinkers at a profound level, and over a short period of time. The simplicity of our approach means that it can be applied in any location: all that is needed is a Davis Facilitator and about a kilo of white plasticine clay.
However, there are many areas of the world that even Davis, in its simplicity, cannot easily reach. Enter Claire Ashmore and Rachel Barwell, two Davis Facilitators from New Zealand who have taken on a remarkable philanthropic mission: to bring Davis know-how into a remote community in Kenya where there is no stable internet connection.
Claire and Rachel are also supporting similar work in Nigeria.
With Davis, the key to unlocking learning across underserved countries and continents is the Davis Learning Strategies programme. In this short video clip, Rachel showcases photos of Davis clay models made by learners in Africa, using improvised clay made from local ingredients.
Davis Facilitator Axel Gudmundsson has been working towards a similar goal. 2LearnToRead is a pilot programme aimed at bringing a basic Davis reading intervention into underserved communities across a digital platform.
Davis is a community of impact-driven neurodivergent learning specialists operating across all the inhabited continents of the world. We are always open to partnering with innovative individuals and organisations with a new vision for transforming learning and lives, wherever our unique know-how can be of help.
Learn how to give younger children the best start with Davis. Join us at our next Davis Learning Strategies Workshop in February.
