Equip parents, educators and older learners with practical Davis strategies for learning
Davis Learning Power is a six-session group course exploring practical applications of Davis principles and tools for school and subject learning.
It developed from the successful Why Tyrannosaurus But Not If? course for parents, which has been delivered since 2020 with strongly positive feedback and outcomes. Davis Learning Power has since been piloted with teachers and with learners aged 16–18.
The course is distinct from an individual Davis programme. A Davis programme works intensively with one learner to address learning differences at their root cause. Davis Learning Power instead teaches practical strategies that parents, educators and older learners can apply to learning and study.
Who can train?
Applications are welcomed from:
licensed Davis Facilitators who hold current Professional Membership of Davis UK & Ireland; and
Davis Facilitator trainees who are in good standing and have approval from their Training Centre and the Hub to begin Presenter training.
Trainee Facilitators may undertake the training pathway but must obtain their Facilitator licence and activate Professional Membership before receiving final authorisation or independently presenting the course.
Existing licensed Why Tyrannosaurus But Not If? Presenters can follow a shorter transition pathway that recognises their previous training and experience.
What does the training involve?
The Presenter pathway normally includes:
preparatory study of the course and Presenter materials;
four hours of live Presenter training;
observation of a complete Davis Learning Power course;
delivery of an initial course with agreed evidence and reflection;
participant feedback; and
a reflective debrief with the Course Presenter Trainer.
Final authorisation is competency-based. Additional support or mentoring will be available where needed.
What are the benefits of becoming a Presenter?
As an authorised Davis Learning Power Course Presenter, you will be able to:
offer an accessible group-based introduction to Davis learning strategies;
work with parents and carers, educators, older learners aged 16 and over, and suitable mixed groups;
deliver the course online or face-to-face, subject to Hub requirements;
broaden the range of Davis services you can offer;
build relationships with families, educators and schools;
create an additional source of professional income; and
contribute to the wider reach and visibility of Davis.
Course income is shared between the Presenter, Davis International and the participating Hub or Centre. The arrangements applying in your territory will be confirmed before you advertise or schedule a course.
A 50% regional bursary is available to eligible Davis professionals resident in Africa.
The fee includes live training, Presenter materials, observation and the initial reflective debrief. Any potential additional mentoring costs will be agreed in advance. If you are eligible, claim this bursary with the coupon code REGIONAL-50 at checkout.
Eligibility to apply is a Professional Membership benefit. Acceptance for training and final Presenter authorisation are separate decisions and are not automatic.
